Position: Sr. Operational Leader/Consultant


Reporting To: CEO of Parent Company


Term: 3-6 months to start


Salary: $160,000 to $180,000 annualized

Who You Are


We are looking for an entrepreneurial leader who has experience successfully maneuvering the delicate balance that blends hands-on involvement with senior managerial insights to lead and support the development and execution of strategies.


The successful person must have experience working in a high growth start-up environment with strong sales skills to help the company grow its revenue. The person will play a key role in helping to organize, drive, and execute the financial and strategic priorities of Mikra, Cellular Sciences. The person will partner closely with the entire executive leadership team, and will represent Mikra at external facing events. The person will also ensure high levels of accountability across the team by developing and implementing appropriate controls, processes, and reporting mechanisms. Finally, the person will develop fluency across numerous parts of the business over time including P&L management, supply chain operations, marketing and promotion, and organizational design while working to ensure collaboration and flawless execution in all areas of responsibility. The initial position is for 3-6 months with the possibility of extensions. The position is remote and can be located anywhere in North America.


Responsibilities:


  • Accountable for the development and execution of the short- & long-term brand and marketing strategies and collaboratively work with internal/external cross-functional teams and agencies to execute best-in-class plans that deliver on financial targets. Accountable for brand Price & Promotion strategies for all retail and online outlets.
  • Accountable for the definition & understanding of the target consumers, ensuring key consumer insights are developed and consumer perceived value is defined. Ensures this information is used effectively in establishing and growing brand love. Ensures team is creating compelling consumer communication and effective media strategies.
  • Build and train a high-performing team across sales, logistics, marketing & brand, ecommerce leveraging in-house expertise and external partners to fill gaps in Mikra’s team.
  • Responsible for creating and owning Mikra’s annual budget and growth model/P&L
  • Own the project management of key initiatives by providing strategic direction, managing project timelines, and ensuring that deliverables are met
  • Lead and coach direct reports, actively communicating expectations and providing regular feedback. Works with each team member to build appropriate development plans and ensures that the training activities achieve agreed upon objectives
  • Leverage storytelling expertise to create compelling presentations and coordinate the collection of information for board/ executive meetings, internal town halls, and other events critical to informing and inspiring key business stakeholders


Skills and Qualifications:


  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking with proven track record
  • Highly analytical with a demonstrated ability to synthesize data and draw meaningful connections to develop clear & compelling strategies
  • Senior level sales and business development experience
  • Experience in dealing with complex regulatory categories and managing broad spectrum of projects.
  • Ownership mindset with a passion for driving results and building strong consumer-centric brands
  • Passionate people leader that can provide strong coaching and develop high-performing teams
  • Proven ability to navigate through strategic complexity and ambiguity
  • Experience working with start-ups a must
  • Minimum 7+ years of successful and progressive Marketing experience, in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Over-the-Counter (OTC), or Consumer Health. Previous experience in the vitamin/supplement category is considered an asset.5+ years experience working in ecommerce
  • Passionate about supplements and the health and wellness industry
  • 5 years of experience with project management and data analytics, especially in CPG, consumer, and/or pharma industries
