Position description

The Senior Mechanical Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate estimate reports for projects by gathering information, analyzing important metrics, and conducting regular risk assessments.

The Senior Mechanical Estimator is a proficient in mathematics and accounting, with in-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to interpret data from completed projects to assist in future estimations.
• Prepare detailed cost estimate reports.
• Be able to manage a team of estimators of different disciplines to bring bids together.
• Maintain relationships with Property Management firms, General Contractors, Owners to insure business growth starts with estimation
• Analyze company data, monitor budgets and prices using software packages.
• Identify labour, material, costs, and time requirements by researching proposals, blueprints, contract documents and any related documents.
• Collect and coordinate different quotes from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
• Review and assess cost estimates.
• Conduct regular risk assessments.
• Present clear and detailed reports to management.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years as an estimator or similar role.
• Outstanding mathematics and IT abilities.
• Proficient in relevant software including MS Office Suite, Trimble (Accubid), Procore, Jonas Premier.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or relevant field.
