Job Description

Our client, a Global Size CPG organization in Mississauga, is seeking a Finance and Planning Manager - FP&A.

Location is Mississauga.

This position is Onsite


Sr. FP&A Finance Manager – CPG

The Sr. FP&A Finance Manager is an integral role focused on providing financial leadership & strategic partnerships, enabling effective decision making and driving sustainable growth for the organization. Responsibilities within this role include leading the period close & forecasting process, understanding core drivers of growth & variance analysis, as well as developing the Strategic Business plan and Annual Operating Plan. Success in this role will require results-driven behavior, solid organizational skills, creative problem solving, analytical thinking, and exceptional influence/storytelling skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Strategic Business Plan & Annual Operating Plan for Canada; developing & managing the overall algorithm, critical path, target builds, submission requests and presentations
  • Proactively monitor business trends, provide “what if” analysis & value-added reporting to facilitate timely decision making & drive performance
  • Lead and prepare executive presentations to Canadian & U.S. leadership team, as well as key cross functional partners, with high quality & insightful content
  • Lead & develop FP&A team focusing on achieving excellence in Short Term, Long Term & personal growth objectives
  • Identify & understand key business drivers, track performance against key measures & manage P&L risks & opportunities
  • Total Canada P&L ownership, leading period end & forecast processes, variance analysis & insights to drive business results, and communication of results/forecasts with senior management and U.S. leadership team
  • Work with US team to provide performance & reporting requirements, templates, updates & other ad hoc support to further a holistic North America financial picture

Qualifications

  • Strong influencing, presentation, storytelling, verbal & written communication skills
  • Exceptional problem solving, organizational & prioritization skills with ability to think and act decisively
  • Strong leadership skills with track record of success working with high performing teams; previous people managing experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance. Ideal candidate will have an accounting designation (CMA/CA/CPA) or an MBA.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional finance teams
  • Ability to find insights through analysis and provide recommendations to drive business results
  • Exceptional Excel, PowerPoint, & financial modeling skills are key requirements; previous Essbase/Smartview & Business Objects experience an asset
  • 5+ years of financial analytical and planning experience with proven results
  • Experience in CPG industry preferred
