Position purpose


Reporting to the Director, Marketing & Communications, the incumbent plans, designs and implements marketing strategies for the Telfer School of Management and its staff. This person coordinates Telfer’s social media, actively designs promotional tools for its services, programs, and events, and ensures compliance with the Telfer brand.


In this role, your responsibilities will include:


  • Promotion strategies: Designs strategies to promote Telfer services, programs and activities based on social media, print media and Telfer’s marketing group network, as needed. Participates in the planning of various events that are organized by or held at Telfer by offering marketing support and anticipating needs.
  • Evaluation: Monitors marketing campaigns, which includes preparing reports and analyses. Provides feedback and suggests improvements for future promotional activities. Studies trends and keeps abreast of best marketing practices, particularly as they apply to university teaching and higher education.
  • Adaptation to technology: Keeps abreast of emerging trends and technologies related to digital marketing and content creation. Adapts strategies and recommendations accordingly.
  • Content creation: Creates, coordinates, organizes and writes persuasive content (such as articles, blog posts, etc.), including drafts, photography, video and more on various online platforms, such as social media, email, search engines and websites, to support Telfer’s vision.


What you will bring:


  • Recent experience in working with online communities and social media engagement (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
  • Experience in shooting, editing and posting videos and photos for social media
  • Proven ability to be diplomatic and tactful
  • Three years’ demonstrated experience in the writing and publication of digital content.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
  • Experience in using graphic design software
  • Bilingualism - French and English (spoken and written)
  • Creativity and ability to turn ideas into graphic images
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required by the position.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, take the initiative and remain self-motivated
  • Experience in writing content for online platforms
  • Three years’ demonstrated experience in the design and execution of digital marketing and social media strategies
  • Professional experience in analytics and in producing reports.
  • Organizational skills, including the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • In-depth knowledge of marketing principles normally acquired through a university degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience in using computer systems and software, such as word processors, spreadsheets, databases, email, and the internet
