As the Senior Reporting Developer, you will design, build, and develop reports for our business. This role will require you to gather report requirements from the client, perform in-depth discovery within our database, and meet deliverables as agreed upon. The development will include reports created for ad-hoc requests or to be scheduled using our reporting platform(s). Though this position will focus on report development, it includes analyzing and interpreting of data, developing KPIs, and drawing insights and conclusions from the analytics. You will be responsible for ensuring that reports are free from errors and meet the requirements of the end-user (internal and/or external), as well as ensuring follow-up items are delivered. You will be expected, as a portion of this role, to communicate with our customers, understand their needs and ensure there is a seamless experience

A Day in the Life

• Make meaningful recommendations by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, and determining the appropriate course of action.
• Identify, refine, and improve processes and develop best practices that increase team efficiency and improve client satisfaction.
• Develop custom reporting solutions which include but are not limited to requirement gathering, write-up of scoping documents, creating/testing of report outputs, and delivery to the end-user.
• Brainstorm ideas for marketing research within the fleet industry, by means of querying Element’s database and/or using third-party data sources.
• Develop custom reporting solutions which include but are not limited to requirement gathering, write-up of scoping documents, creating/testing of report outputs, and delivery to the end-user.
• Prepare and deliver presentations outlining the results of analyses.

Requirements

• Proficiency in MS-SQL and/or Sybase SQL and familiarity with database architecture.
• Ability to work individually in a fast-paced environment and work well within a team with a focus on results, accuracy, and delivery.
• Degree/Diploma in Mathematics & Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or Economics is preferable.
• Very strong PC proficiency required, including Microsoft SQL Server 2014 or higher, SSRS, SAP Business Objects or IBM Cognos or Crystal Reports, SSIS, Excel, and Microsoft Access.
• Ability to effectively interact at all levels of the organization (within Element as well as with external clients).
• Working knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, Clickview, Spotfire, Power BI).
• 1 to 4 years of related work experience in analytics and data analysis.
• An undergraduate degree/post-secondary diploma is a requirement.
