My client is a Canadian public company, that’s growing and a leader in its space, seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Special Projects to be based at its head office in Mississauga.

Your new role

My client is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Special Projects. They are seeking a motivated candidate with a passion for process improvement and a strong technical accounting background. As the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting you will be responsible for developing new accounting processes, monitoring regulatory and IFRS developments, and participating in corporate finance transactions. You will also assist with quarterly and annual financial reporting processes and build relationships with other groups within the company. You will assess significant corporate contracts and interpret bank loan agreements for initial and continuing financial reporting implications. You will work to streamline and create standardized processes for incremental lender reporting requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

The successful candidate will have at least 7 years of accounting and finance experience, a professional accounting designation and strong communication and presentation skills. You will preferrably have worked in a large public accounting firm, and have strong exposure to IFRS. Experience with Hyperion and a strong aptitude for systems is required, as the role will support a new system implementation in 2024. You will be comfortable holding a role that has no direct reports, requiring you to be hands on in all aspects of the role. You will be comfortable communicating at all levels and able to build strong relationships across the organisaiton. Exposure to the real estate sector is preferred.
