Senior Manager, Controllership Services

Treewalk is in search of a dedicated quiet leader to drive the growth of our controllership group. Our ideal candidate has prior experience in a controllership role and is now seeking increased variety and ownership in their work. As Senior Manager of Controllership Services, you will oversee a team of controllers and assistant controllers, collaborating with a range of public and private companies. Your focus will be on training, hiring, and assisting your team in navigating complex client challenges.

Your ability to engage with people one-on-one, listen attentively, and inspire a sense of purpose will be crucial in coaching your team to build structure and improve internal controls. Your down-to-earth, patient, and restrained approach fosters trust and respect among those you lead.

With a goal to double the department every four months, your daily tasks will include:

• Hiring, onboarding and training new team members
• Coordination of learning and development for the controllership team
• Mentoring and providing oversight for a group of assistant controllers and controllers providing interim operational support to clients
• Delivering administrative support such as billing and resource allocation, for the controllership team
• Oversight and review of full cycle accounting including regular maintenance of various audit working papers

As an ideal candidate, you possess the following:

• Previous experience in a controller role with oversight of the month-end process
• Assurance experience at a public accounting firm is considered an asset
• Designated Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), minimum four years post designation
