Senior Development Engineer Of Inp Lasers And Amplifiers

SCINTIL Photonics is a fabless company that develops, and markets silicon photonic integrated circuits augmented with integrated lasers and optical amplifiers, for ultimate optical connectivity in Data Centers, Cloud HPC and 5G infrastructure. Its solution combines the best of Silicon (Si) and Indium Phosphide (InP) photonics using waferscale bonding of III-V on Si. And it uses commercial silicon photonic foundry to mass-produce its Augmented Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits (PIC).

Based in Grenoble, France and Toronto, Canada, SCINTIL is currently taking its innovative technology to an industrial level as it gears up for mass production.

For our Grenoble or Toronto offices, we are looking for a Semiconductor laser Development Engineer. The candidate will have hands-on experience with developing semiconductor laser products, as well as in-depth understanding of semiconductor laser mechanisms and tradeoffs. Thanks to the Company valuable partnerships over the supply chain (Silicon foundry, Packaging Partners, teaching Customers), and short development cycle times, you will join a team where you can measure your impacts.

Your key contributions will be:

• Defining the optimizations depending on the use case of the laser (power efficiency, power, thermal behavior), including revising the III-V epitaxial stacks, the laser geometry, the grating strength, etc…
• Supporting the product development team and the business development taking part into the discussions with Customers
• Analyzing our heterogeneous III-V/Si laser architecture, and performances,
• Proposing new test structures, and contributing to the definition of the tests,
• Proposing and setting up reliability tests with the test team,

Required qualifications and experience:

• MSc or PhD in Physics, Optoelectronics, or related relevant field
• At least 10 years in similar job position, and laser product development
