Our client, a leader in the agricultural industry is looking for a Sr. Contract Manager.
Location: Calgary - Hybrid
1 year contract
Pay: $135-$140 per year
Job Purpose
Why does the job exist and what is it designed to accomplish?
As 3rd Party Manager you will join the North American Agricultural Products Regional marketing team and Canadian AgSolutions Crop Protection Marketing team and work directly with the regional marketing managers, business unit marketing teams and customers to grow the North American Agricultural Solutions business and further develop our customer focused portfolio.
Key responsibilities include developing new commercial agreements including supply agreements and out-licensing agreements while aligning contract terms with key internal stakeholders. Support new and ongoing business by partnering with operational readiness resources to launch new market products and accurately forecasting material volumes and timing. Work with key team members to identify market opportunities, positioning, and competitive evaluation within the key markets.
This position will also lead the Canadian data comp activities to ensure that we are getting the most value from our company active ingredient assets. Further details outlined below.
Knowledge and Experience
What We Look for in You
BS in Chemistry, Agriculture, Bioscience, or related discipline with 10+ years experience -OR- MS in Chemistry, Agriculture, Bioscience, or related discipline with 8+ years experience -OR- PhD in Chemistry, Agriculture, Bioscience, or related discipline with 6+ years experience
5+ years background/experience working in Crop Protection sales/marketing in North America, specifically working directly at the grower/distribution level
Previous experience leading project teams
Previous experience in business case development
Able and willing to travel up to 10% of the time
Strong entrepreneurial drive, collaboration, presentation, and communication skills
Preferred:
Agribusiness experience
MBA
Previous experience with Digital agriculture tools and valuation of Digital tools and projects
Previous successful experience with strategy development and implementation
Previous experience in budget management
Core Responsibilities
Meeting with distribution customers to review projects/timelines/requests 25%
Negotiations with 3rd party suppliers on in-licensing/out-licensing projects 25%
Working with internal project teams to develop and launch key projects 40%
Budget management for key projects 10%
Responsibility (0.5% FTE Data Comp Strategist) % of time
Manage key PMRA Data Comp Activities 50%
Arbitration Conduct/Management 25%
Strategy Development and Alignment 25%
Nature and Scope
Business environment (market/external conditions/challenges the job faces on a regular basis):
This position will encounter challenging questions and discussions with customers to deliver opportunities as fast as possible
Getting internal alignment and operational execution will require this position to be able to communicate clearly and convincingly strategic direction, opportunities and threats to leadership and stakeholders.
Level of Autonomy/Decision Making Responsibility:
Working with internal teams and leadership, this position will have the responsibility to drive the teams to aligned decision and execute these projects with the customers.
Internal and external relationships (other than supervisor, what other positions does this job interact with and why):
Work with Regional Market Managers (RMMs) to develop business cases for the development of channel focused opportunities.
Coordinate the efforts of Regulatory, Market Intelligence, Operations, Formulation, Technical Service, Biology, Communications, Legal and Global/Local marketing to identify solutions focused on customer needs.
Manage and maintain existing commercial agreements and relationships with distribution customers in partnership with Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) and RMMs.
Average Number of Contracts
Responsible for 10 ongoing contracts
4-6 distribution customers
6-8 manufacture peer company contracts
Many key internal and external customer contacts and relationships
