Job description:
Our team is growing, and we are actively looking to hire Senior Analyst, Data Governance to join our team! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Governance, you will be providing key technical expertise to design, acquire, investigate, manipulate, and analyze data to support the delivery of Allstate Canada Group’s data governance roadmap. The candidate will require an in-depth understanding of the data structure and environment to implement foundational capabilities and processes required to meet ACG’s data governance framework. The candidate will be expected to be proactive in developing a network of key collaborators and to be willing to think outside of the box and push the projects a step further.
By protecting ACG’s Data ecosystems with an effective Data Governance framework, the Senior Analyst, Data Governance will increase ACG’s ability to support future decisions based on robust data and will mitigate ACG’s data vulnerabilities.
Accountabilities: 5-7 items
- Extract data from ACG’s data ecosystem to track the quality of data and communicate results with different stakeholder groups.
- Maintain the Data Governance framework to protect ACG data assets and enable solutions and processes that will increase internal knowledge of ACG data.
- Design integrated data pipelines to extract large volume of data from diverse data sources and deliver curated common data layers
- Collaborate with Privacy, I.T., and Architecture teams and vendor teams as required to develop the Data Governance and Privacy roadmap
- Collaborate with Data & Analytics stakeholders to develop and test Data quality and Data profiling rules to support data governance functions.
Qualifications: 5-6 Quantifiable qualifications
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Experience building and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models for reporting and analytics use cases.
- Ability to articulate ideas in both technical and business friendly language
- Bachelor’s degree (Actuarial Sciences/Computer Science/Engineering/Math/Stats/Finance or similar) preferred
- 3 years of experience supporting Data Governance and/or Data Privacy initiatives
- Experience in building ETL/ELT mappings, data pipelines and Workflows
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, VBA, and PowerPoint
- Experience in SQL programming for developing data, cleansing, performing data validation, required data integrity checks, auditing data and improve efficiency of programs
- Experience with analytics platforms and methodologies (data lake, data warehouse, data marts, ETL, data modelling, data governance, etc.)
Bonus qualification:
- Experience with SAS is preferred
- Experience on large data modernization initiative is preferred
- Experience with insurance/actuarial data will be considered a plus
