Security Patroller - Yvr Airport

Currently we are accepting applications for the position of Security Patroller at the Vancouver International Airport who is responsible for the safety and security of both inside and outside the terminal.

Job Duties

• Liaising with various external agencies including law enforcement such as RCMP and fire rescue teams
• Conducting patrols of the Vancouver International Airport, both within the terminal building and the airside environment
• Providing access into and out of the Restricted Area of the airport, when requirements
• Providing customer service to passengers and employee and ensure the safe movement throughout the airport environment
• Reporting any suspicious activity to the Security Operations Center
• Responding to any emergency incidents, as dispatched
• De-escalating and managing conflict in an appropriate manner
• Conducting enforcement both within the Terminal and Airside, enforcing the Airside Traffic Directives and issuing Violation Notices, if necessary
• Responding to any unattended baggage within the terminal building

Job Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License with the Province of British Columbia with Clean Drivers Abstract
• Have access to vehicle to travel to and from work
• Ability to problem solve and situational awareness
• Valid First Aid Certificate
• Candidates must be physically fit with the ability to sit, stand, patrol and climb stairs for a twelve (12) hours shift
• Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) - D
• Ability to work twelve (12) hours, rotating between days and evenings (overnight)
• Valid Security License with the Province of British Columbia
