The Opportunity

In this role you will be responsible for correctly performing the requirements needed for each medical marijuana crop in such a way to produce quality plants, on a consistent basis, with minimal losses, and as efficiently as possible.

Independently performs all Sections Grower job duties. Directly responsible for the quality of crops in the assigned section. Trains and mentors Production Assistants and directly reports to the Cultivation Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular calibration of nutrient testing instruments
• Utilize environmental control system to regulate grow room parameters
• Orchestrate the receiving of the new plants
• Ensure cleanliness of facility at all times
• Manage phenotype selection
• Perform preventative maintenance on growing equipment and test instruments
• Keep daily records for production accuracy and compliance with all the laws
• Determine irrigation frequency and duration
• Other duties as assigned
• Follow production schedules and communicate variances to the Production Manager
• Prune, train and support growing plants
• Perform water, nutrient and soil tests
• Maintain grow room sanitation protocols
• Identify and trouble shoot plant problems
• Able to work a variety of different shifts
• Determine nutrient selection based on observation and production schedule
• Check for hermaphroditic pants
• Monitor environmental inputs to maximize production and prevent failures
• Keep records for grow journals and Health Canada documentation
• Help develop ways to reduce costs or improve efficiencies in production
• Ensure compliance of company safety procedures
• Train Production Assistants in growing techniques and Standard Operating Procedures
• Execute pest management protocols as directed by IPM Specialist
• Plan and monitor daily work activities for Production Assistants
• Coordinate harvest with post-harvest Manager

Experience

• Greenhouse and/or a horticultural degree
• Superior communication and leaderships skills
• Previous MMAR/ ACMPR experience as asset
• Two years prior experience as a Section Grower or a similar position
