Our client has many large scale, multi year construction projects throughout the greater Vancouver area which need H&S Advisors/CSOs immediately. About the Role
In this project role you will work closely with the regional safety managers and the site supervisors to ensure compliance and address any safety related concerns on the worksite. This will include evaluating the site specific safety plan and monitoring hazards while developing risk management strategies.
Specific Information
- Advise on WorkSafe BC regulations and confirm compliance
- Join our client’s safety team to act on behalf of the client
- Lead by participating in site safety initiatives
- Interact with the project management team, contractors and workers
- Coach/Mentor employees, sub-contractors and all working personnel on site
- Coordinate the delivery of health and safety services to the workforce, including client representatives, subcontractors and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals
- Self-motivated, action oriented and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently on routine tasks with a positive attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, overall computer usage and the use of online tools and applications
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
- OFA Level 2 will be considered an asset
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Interpersonal skills and strong customer service orientation
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships, trust, and influence is essential
- Achieved or have a plan or path towards achieving one of the following certifications/designations: CSO, NCSO, CRST
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities; capable of handling pressure and challenges in a dynamic environment
- Intending to, enrolled in, or completion of an OHS Safety related program (Certificate, Diploma, Degree)
- Strong organization, analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Comprehensive working familiarity of WorkSafeBC Regulations, especially as it pertains to the construction industry
- Ability to perceive the application of risk assessment to company operations and activities
