Job Description
Safety Administrator and Mining Repair Reporting Specialist
Purpose
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Safety Administrator and Mining Repair Reporting Specialist on a full-time basis. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, maintaining accurate safety documentation, and reporting on mining equipment repairs. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe working environment and supporting efficient mining operations.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Safety Administrator (50% of Time):
  • Organize and maintain a centralized repository for safety documentation, reports, and records.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of safety training materials for employees and contractors.
  • Keep abreast of changes in safety regulations and industry best practices; suggest updates to safety protocols as needed.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to discussions on safety improvements and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with management to develop, update, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Monitor and record safety incidents, near misses, and accidents; compile data for trend analysis and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular audits of safety documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Mining Repair Reporting (50% of Time):
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of equipment repair histories
  • Collaborate with Mining operations teams to gather information about equipment repairs, maintenance activities, and downtime.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management regarding equipment repair status, maintenance costs, and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze repair data to identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for process improvements.
  • Create detailed and accurate reports on mining equipment repairs, maintenance schedules, and associated costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement and inventory management to ensure timely availability of spare parts required for equipment repairs.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Prior experience in safety documentation, data analysis, or equipment repair reporting is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices related to mining operations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with cross-functional teams, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze data for trends and insights.
  • Proficiency in using software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database management tools.
  • This is a full-time position, requiring approximately 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to a safer working environment and support efficient mining operations through accurate documentation and insightful repair reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and maintain accurate documentation.
