About The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Health Services Manager, the Respiratory Therapist applies their knowledge, skills and judgment in the provision of diagnostic, assessment and therapeutic modalities to assist in the management of cardiorespiratory and related disorders in collaboration with the physician and other health care professionals. The Respiratory Therapist also participates in education of patients, families and other health care providers. Primary responsibilities include spirometry, patient/family teaching and clinical support.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists
• Successful completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care Exams
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Certified respiratory/asthma/COPD educator an asset
• Previous spirometry experience required
• Previous care coordinator experience an asset
• Prior experience in time management, conflict resolution and information management an asset
• Smoking cessation experience an asset
• Current certification in BCLS and ACLS
• Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
• Successful completion of a Respiratory Therapy program from an accredited institution

Hours

• Approximately 18 months
• Long Assignment, Part-time (80%), 60 hours bi-weekly

Compensation and Incentives
$29.08 - $39.87 Hourly
