Leica Biosystems (LBS) is an operating company within the family of companies that make up Danaher’s diagnostics segment. LBS is a global leader in workflow and automation solutions, providing anatomic pathology laboratories and researchers with a comprehensive product range for each step in the pathology process, from sample preparation and staining to imaging and reporting. The products’ ease of use and reliability helps improve workflow efficiency and diagnostic confidence for customers.


LBS has three comprehensive business segments; Core Histology, Advanced Staining and Digital Pathology. Position Summary And Overview


The HR Manager role has a strong focus on executing talent strategies within Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs and Companion Diagnostics functions. A key business partner and subject matter expert to functional leaders, the HR Manager is responsible for ensuring HR processes and cycles are executed effectively, timely and aligned with LBS talent priorities.


The HR Manager drives execution of Human Resource strategies, programs and tools for a high performing, engaged workforce. Responsibilities include partnering with leaders on end-to-end HR processes including recruitment, engagement and retention of employees; advise on compensation and benefits practices; manage employee relations and compliance matters, general policy administration, and data & analytics support. This role also plays a pivotal role in talent acquisition activities, for attracting and securing best available talent and enable continuous business growth.


Major Responsibilities


  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations and compliance issues through a logical and systematic approach. Conducts effective, thorough investigations when required.
  • Partner with extended leadership team to align and execute HR programs
  • Facilitate leadership training classes as required
  • Champion engagement cycle: partner with leaders to drive participation, lead focus groups for best feedback collection, identify trends and monitor action plan progress
  • Oversees management of time and attendance and other HR systems consistent with local regulations and organization-wide policies and practices
  • Coach and counsel people leaders in enhancing their own leadership skills, addressing concerns, and improving on opportunities to develop high performing teams.
  • Develop and drive processes to accelerate skills and capability development. Focus on providing opportunities for individual career development
  • Continuously analyze trends, create strategies to enhance HR organizational effectiveness
  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities of core HR processes– actively partner with leaders to assess and take risks in order to improve team performance
  • Ensure KPIs are aligned with global HR objectives, processes, and priorities. Actively problem-solve when required
  • Provides HR policy development, interpretation and guidance in collaboration with shared service where available and appropriate
  • Keep abreast of external market and industry trends. Create strategies to attract and retain diverse talent.


Required Education/Skills/Experience


  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in medical devices or FDA regulated organization
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate employees
  • Experience in lean and continuous improvement practices
  • Minimum 7 years in HR partner roles in matrix, global environments
  • Experience with partnering with leaders with technical and functional components of human resources, including: talent acquisition, talent management, organizational design/development, succession planning, leadership development, compensation practices; compliance; employee communications; training and development and employee relations
  • High level of proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, WorkDay
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline


Travel: up to 25% (domestic and international)
