Research Associate, Imaging Research Program

Temporary employment until approximately July 31, 2028, subject to the availability of work.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of Dr. Ting-Yim Lee in the role of “Research Associate”. This position will assist the Lawson Imaging Research Program to secure and administer both industry-sponsored and local investigator / resident-sponsored clinical research trials.
There are a broad range of responsibilities, with a focus on all dimensions of Clinical Trials Administration including: preparation and set up of ethics submissions; design of case report forms to collect clinical data, setting up and maintenance of clinical database; preparation, maintenance and reporting of financials for individual clinical trials; liaison with industry, patients, physicians and healthcare workers; management of clinical trial documentation assuring investigational product accountability and reconciliation. Other responsibilities include: imaging of research participants with PET/MR or PET/CT or SPECT/CT scanner as per the research study protocol; reconstruct images according to vendor SOP’s, pre-processing of images (. smoothing and resolution enhancement) for subsequent analysis of each research project; archival of de-identified images into a research image database; correlate clinical and image databases to allow query and retrieval of information from both. The incumbent handles any adverse events and assures adherence to reporting requirements for serious events. This is a 5 day per week ( hours per week) position.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent postsecondary education in a regulated health profession
Three years of experience in imaging and clinical research
Requires excellent interpersonal, supervisory, organizational and planning skills to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and have the ability to deal with confidential matters
Experience in the preparation and management of budgets; Incumbent must have strong math and analytical skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to communicate effectively general and scientific information both verbally and in writing at all levels;
Ability to work independently and make decisions. Good judgement, initiative, tact and professional attitude in the workplace
Adaptable, flexible and resourceful. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines;
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with LHRI policies and procedures an asset
Familiarity with national, international and provincial research funding agencies/ organizations that fund research is a strong asset
Familiarity with operation of REDCap for clinical data database
Demonstrated ability to lead and work in teams, . including faculty, staff, students and residents
Experience with soliciting funds and contributions from corporations, foundations and individuals
The incumbent will maintain certification in: CPR training, WHMS training, Shipping of Dangerous Goods training

Immunization Requirements

Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox)
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
