The ideal candidate will have 5 - 7 YEARS OF CONSUTLING experience with Cognos TM1 with proficiency in financial planning and analytics, accounting, and information systems.


Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Experience with operating financial, planning & analytical systems
  • Planning Analytics, PAx and PAW experience is essential
  • Expert with software suites (TM1, Planning and Analytics).
  • Experience in change management and financial process improvement.
  • Able to perform business process analysis, requirements analysis and review technical designs.
  • Possess good communication skills and have the ability to collaborate with both business and technical team members.


Accountabilities/Responsibilities

  • Implements recommendations from senior management on the creation of new Planning Analytics applications or enhancements to existing ones.
  • Manages the implementation of complex enhancements to existing Planning Analytics applications
  • Constructs and tests Planning Analytics application logic, and develops, creates, modifies application code for complex applications.
  • Manages the implementation of complex implementation of major new Planning Analytics applications (enterprise-wide impact).


  • Implement TM1 security across implementations
  • Implement Planning Analytics/ TM1 solutions using TM1 Rules, TI Processes
  • Grenadier working attitude
  • Planning Analytics, PAx and PAW experience is essential
  • Conduct Planning Analytics training sessions for the end-users
  • Build and present Proof of Concept to stakeholders and seek approval towards solution build
  • Collaborate with Finance and Accounting teams to discuss & understand business requirements and create functional requirements specifications


Basic Qualifications

  • Solid 5+ years IBM Cognos TM1 Suite (version10.x) implementation experience from requirements to deployment
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5+ years of experience in TM1 application development and maintenance.


  • Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Experience using analytical skills, tools and techniques to investigate information and to draw conclusions.
  • Experience with technical design process and models.
  • Planning Analytics, PAx and PAW experience is essential
  • Experience with SDLC / SW development processes (RUP, Agile, Waterfall)
  • Hands-on with Turbo Integrator, TM1 Rules with the ability for performance tuning existing and new applications
  • Ability to work in a Grenadier manner
  • Experience utilizing verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge with IBM Planning Analytics, Cognos BI and ETL 3. Cognos TM1 Certification
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Business Administration, or similar
