This is the job for you! We are currently looking for a Rehabilitation Specialist (Insurance) for one of our clients in the insurance industry.
- 20 days of vacation as of Day 1
- A focus on work-life balance to ensure your wellbeing and productivity. This position offers a remote work arrangement exclusively within Ontario.
- Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week).
- Pension fund contributions after 1 year of service.
- Flexible work schedule from Monday to Friday (daytime)
- Insurance Benefits as of Day 1
- Annual salary ranging from $60,000 to $90,000.
- Works with the analyst and/or coordinator to determine the needs, potential, and resulting appropriateness of a rehabilitation referral.
- Takes responsibility for fully managing files transferred to rehabilitation:
- Proposes creative solutions;
- Assesses intervention extensions or terminations.
- Encourages permanent returns to work.
- Effectively manages the factors that influence the duration of the disability;
- Holds discussions/meetings with employers upon return to work;
- Documents the file;
- Conducts negotiations with insured individuals and reinsurers for lump-sum settlements.
- Gets doctors involved;
- Selects, hires, and develops business relationships with service and care providers
- Monitors milestones.
- Communicates with all stakeholders verbally and in writing;
- Manages approximately 30 rehabilitation files at a time.
- Works in partnership and discusses regularly with the various actors involved in the file:
- Coordinates various stakeholders and their involvement to ensure quick, safe, and cost-effective resolution of disability.
- Establishes, follows closely, and guides to completion realistic, cost-effective rehabilitation plans:
- Mobilizes insured individuals;
- Shares opinions with care providers;
- Ensures continuous communication and provides advice and support to analysts in their disability files.
- Establishes clear mandates based on a cost-benefit analysis according to schedules and budgets;
- Pays benefits;
- Creates rehabilitation mandates and assumes the responsibilities and expenses they incur
- Tracks the achievement of objectives and controls costs;
- Fluent in French (a strong asset but not required)
- Knowledge of insurance industry best practices and standards.
- Experience in disability management (asset).
- Fluent in English
- Comfortable in a dynamic work environment
- Adapts to and works under pressure.
- Uses interpersonal skills to create a unique and distinctive client experience.
- Analytical mindset, capable of analyzing information and identifying missing details to effectively manage a rehabilitation file.
- Exhibits excellent time management to achieve both timely and high-quality performance targets.
- Shows empathy.
- Gets involved in a team where success is centred around collaboration and communication.
- Experience as a rehabilitation consultant at an insurer or a firm (could be an asset).
- Specialization in mediation, conflict resolution, and/or rehabilitation (asset).
- Valid driver’s licence (mandatory).
- Adheres to, supports, and contributes to the priorities set by the department.
- Proficient in summarizing and synthesizing information verbally and in written form
- Skilled in establishing strong relationships and possesses excellent communication abilities.
- Proficient in conflict management.
- Independent and self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision.
- Bachelor’s degree and/or significant experience in a field relevant to rehabilitation.
- Adaptable communication style to suit different situations.
