We are looking to fill a one-year Contract QC Contract Worker position to cover vacations, and other absences (as per company’s needs), at our Diamond City Cheese Plant. We are located approximately 20 minutes outside of Lethbridge.

What This Role Is All About

In this role, you will perform:

• Preparation of cheese for analyzing,
• Sampling & resampling cheese (for micro & compositional analyses); and ingredients (for micro analyses)
• Controlling “ON HOLD” and “RELEASE” mechanisms,
• Various monitoring duties, and other duties as required.
• Calibration of lab equipment,
• Various routine laboratory analysis (such as compositional tests, and microbiological tests); chemical analysis (such as concentration tests, appearance tests); and other laboratory tests,
• Troubleshoot when the above tests are out of compliance that could affect products/ environment safety and quality,
• Compiling and reporting data,

What You Need

• Laboratory experience will be a considered asset,
• Good communication skills, both written and oral,
• Ability to multi-task several responsibilities simultaneously,
• Demonstrated ability to be a team player,
• Ability to learn many different tasks for various lab positions.
• Must be able to work well within a fast-paced production environment,
• Completed or in process of completing either Bachelor of Science degree or post secondary diploma in food science, biology, microbiology, or related field,
• Strong proficiency with computer skills and capabilities,
