PURCHASING MANAGER – Winnipeg, MB

This 30+ year company has grown substantially requiring a Purchasing Manager who is eager to use their skills to develop and grow the procurement and supply chain department. Responsibilities
  • Maintain strategic awareness of world events and their potential effect on supply chain
  • Collaborate with team on continuous improvement of processes and systems
  • Manage all supply chain/purchasing activities to meet manufacturing, inventory and distribution requirements
  • Lead and mentor team of 3-5
  • Work closely with management team on corporate projects & initiatives
  • Ensure established business relationships with suppliers are aligned with corporate goals
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues
  • Develop and execute value-added purchasing policies and strategies
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies, procedures, standards and strategies
  • Maximize positive cash flow by optimizing inventory levels
  • Participate in key/strategic supplier contract negotiations
Requirements
  • Able to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment preferred
  • Post Secondary Degree, SCMP or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years related experience in strategically sourcing in leadership capacity
  • Proven negotiation skills
  • Proficient in MS office applications
  • Excellent people skills to lead and motivate a team
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal
