Job Description

The Calgary African Community Collective is seeking a Public Relations Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective communication strategies to promote our organization and its programs to the public.


Role’s Responsibilities

  • Create press releases, media kits, and other promotional materials.
  • Manage social media accounts and website content.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that promote our organization and its programs.
  • Plan and coordinate events, including press conferences and media interviews.
  • Monitor media coverage and track metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Provide communication support to staff and members as needed.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of social media and website management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, Communications, or a related field
  • Proven work experience as a Public Relations Manager or similar role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills


This is a part-time position working 25hrs per week with a salary of $30/hr
