Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on prototype engineer who can make ideas come to life. This person will work closely with other members of the Engineering team to build prototypes for both internal evaluation as well as customer integrations – Think companies like Nintendo, Samsung, Razer, and HTC.

Responsibilities

  • Data gathering and root cause analysis
  • Design and build prototypes for internal and customer-facing evaluation
  • Write code for integrations and proof of concept builds
  • Sourcing and selecting parts to support prototype build requirements
  • Testing and validating parts
  • Engineering documentation generation and review


Key Qualifications/Requirements

  • Basic Arduino programming
  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Proficiency with 3D printing and power tools
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.
  • CAD proficiency (Solidworks or Fusion360)
  • Basic electronics/soldering experience
  • 1+ year related job experience minimum
  • Engineering Degree, Bachelor’s or higher in related field

  • Quickly able understand new concepts


Nice to Haves

  • Examples of personal projects showing competency in hardware/software
  • Literacy in other languages, especially Chinese, Japanese and Korean
  • Hobby experience in electronics, programming
  • Interest in consumer electronics technology, gaming, AR/VR, tech trends


Location

  • Peel Region (Mississauga/Markham)


Compensation and Benefits

  • Flexible hours and vacation
  • $30 - 35/hour (Contractor or Part-time)
  • $60,000 - 70,000/year + Employee Stock Options (Full time)
