Job Description

The Project Manager (PM) guides a team of engineers and professionals that design, build, and manage complex water treatment and anaerobic digestion projects. In this role, the PM is ultimately accountable to the client and the business for the technical and financial performance of the project.

Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions (VWTS) is a worldwide leader in water recovery, treatment, and reuse. We design and supply a range of water systems, from food and beverage applications to municipal water, to microelectronics ultrapure water and heavy industrial wastewater treatment. Our portfolio of technologies includes solids-contact clarification, membrane & and media filtration, ion exchange, electrolysis, aerobic/anaerobic digestion, evaporation, ozone/UV disinfection, and more.

As Project Manager, you are responsible for the overall success of VWTS’s equipment and infrastructure projects. Working closely with the Lead Engineer and Sourcing Project Leader, you direct and coordinate all activities on a given project, beginning with contract signature and following through process/equipment design, vendor selection, fabrication, shipment, installation, and startup. You are a passionate advocate for quality and safety across every aspect of the project, and ensure the team delivers on commitments while adhering to scope, schedule, and budget. Finally, you maintain project status and financial reporting to VWTS Operations while setting and managing client and vendor expectations.

The PM operates in a networked and highly flexible role. The position favors a creative, skilled communicator who approaches problems analytically and with intellectual rigor. While the PM is not a technical backstop in all areas of water treatment design, the role does require a foundation in engineering principles. Most importantly, though, the PM can direct a team of experts and possesses a well-developed sense of when and where guidance is needed.

Minimum requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or an equivalent field

A minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or the ability to obtain it within 1 year

Experience in Project Management

Self-motivated, quick to deliver, and a team player

A demonstrated dedication to safety

Effective problem-solving skills

An accomplished communicator

Useful skills or abilities:

Experience managing Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) contracts preferred

Experience in industrial process system design/construction, specifically water treatment, chemical, oil & gas, or power preferred but not required

Impeccable planning, organization, and time management

Clear, concise communication skills

Team player, who can exercise good judgment under ambiguous or changing conditions

The role requires the ability to travel domestically and internationally 5-20% of the time

We offer competitive compensation and benefits working in a dynamic environment with challenging projects and training provided to ensure your success.
