Job Description

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Project Manager with experience in large-scale IT implementations to help our client replace an existing provincial-wide system with a new solution. An RFP has been developed to identify the new solution, with responses expected in October. The PM will assist with a review of the proponents from the RFP process and will extend into project planning and full-scale implementation, which will include data migration. There will also be business process analysis and redesign to ensure streamlined processes that support client requirements


Responsibilities:


  • Manage project scope, costs, quality, and timelines by working closely with the Sponsors
  • Translate decisions from the Sponsor and Steering Committee into tactical plans
  • Design, implement, and monitor the roll-out of a project plan
  • Provide best practice recommendations based on prior experience with projects
  • Lead executive stakeholders through decision making process
  • Provide the Sponsor and project team with regular updates on the various work streams
  • Initiate business process review and develop an approach that will seek to harmonize business processes provincially
  • Develop project charter and initiate project structure through detailed project planning
  • Design and maintain standard documents and schedules for the Waterfall methodology
  • Support contracting processes
  • Support an in-depth analysis of the most relevant proponent solutions, including but not limited to: costing, total cost of ownership, technical architecture, functionality
  • Work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment with provincial initiatives and future road map
  • Provide oversight of resources and stakeholders working on or being impacted by the project
  • Prepare presentations and briefing/decision notes for Sponsors and Steering Committee
  • Identify project risks and escalate issues to the Sponsor and Steering Committee
  • Lead meetings with the project team


Requirements:


  • Experience working with medical staff and executive medical leaders
  • 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager
  • Political acumen and ability to manage sensitive issues
  • Highly skilled in project management of large scale IT (information technology) projects
  • Experience leading provincially scoped projects, including overseeing data migration, business process redesign and enabling the resultant system to be a valued provincial asset
  • Expertise in SmartSheet project management software is an asset
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure is an asset
  • Ability to lead stakeholders through all related project activities
  • Project Management Professional designation is preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with senior stakeholders
  • Skilled in executive stakeholder engagement
