Job Description

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking a Project Manager to help our client manage and support the planning phase of a Project Management Information System (PMIS) corporate implementation.


Responsibilities:


  • Acceptance criteria
  • Project logs (including stakeholder register and RAID log)
  • Developing full-scale project management plan, implementation plan and associated communications documents.
  • Estimating and identifying the resources and participants required to achieve project goals.
  • Developing a sustainment and support model for the corporate system.
  • Defining the process for reviewing, sign-off, and testing of business requirements.
  • Validating the business requirements for corporate implementation, including integration requirements with other existing systems.
  • Defining guiding principles for the project.
  • Ensuring proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy.
  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders.
  • Corporate implementation plan
  • Establishing effective and appropriate project governance.
  • Developing key project deliverables, including:
  • Business requirements document and work breakdown structure
  • Identifying opportunities to standardize business requirements and processes across the various departments.
  • Planning and scheduling project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Monthly status reports
  • Identifying the priority modules for system implementation.
  • Project management plan
  • Developing an acceptance criteria and process for the pilot implementation.
  • Project charter
  • Ensuring proper financial management of the project.


Requirements:


  • Ability to influence and foster an environment of shared accountability.
  • Experience in planning, implementing and supporting a PMIS or other corporate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for a large utility, municipal or government organization.
  • Considerable knowledge of information technology components, processes and developments related to the work performed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset.
  • Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies, knowledge areas and tools.
  • Strong ability to document, analyze and assess business processes, system interactions and to propose consolidated alternative business processes.
  • Ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences.
  • 10+ years of project management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of problem definition and analysis related to business processes and systems planning.
  • Ability to be flexible and highly adaptive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
  • Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) and Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) designations are an asset.
  • Considerable knowledge of the functions of departments served and their requirements in information technology.

  • Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, although direction will be given
  • Provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts
