YOUR CONTRIBUTION
Your line of report will be the Project Finance Controller. Upon your arrival, you will support domestic and international projects (from pre-feasibility to execution stage) by assisting Enerkem’s Project Finance Management and Accounting team in a variety of selected tasks related to the field of project monthly follow-up (Revenue and Cost recognition) and invoicing, which include not only the preparation and issuing of monthly statements and invoices, processing of credit memos, general invoices’ monitoring and tracking, project working hours and charging rates maintenance, but also involvement in the annual Budgeting and Forecasting procedures as well as in the annual standard cost calculation.

Your Role & Responsibilities
  • Implement cost control measures, perform reconciliation on a regular basis, and provide reporting when required.
  • Exercise judgement in utilizing established procedures to complete tasks.
  • Support Project Finance Controller and Finance Reporting Manager on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support accounting activities (audit file, reports and dashboards, special reports).
  • Prepare pre-billing reports and invoice statements for relevant internal stakeholders to review.
  • Interact actively and work closely with project team and commercial department in delivering relevant financial information and submittals.
  • Assist project teams with any questions or needs related to the accounting department.
  • Review cost and billing reports to ensure proper management of cost codes, contract items, charge out rates, and mark-ups.
  • Produce clear and concise cost and cash flow reports.
  • Participate in the annual Budgeting and regular Forecasting process.
  • Calculate annual standard costing and monitor it on a regular basis versus actuals.
  • Understand compliance requirements for various projects and financially analyze prospective projects.
  • Focus on project invoicing and AR optimization.
Qualifications
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant functional experience (experience in a project / construction / engineering firm considered an asset)
  • Professional accounting designation (or working towards one) is considered a strong asset.
YOUR COMPETENCIES
  • Good communication skills toward effective collaboration and client services.
  • Ability to analyze information, determine discrepancies, and resolve issues.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English, both oral and written.
  • Ability to interact with various hierarchical levels, versatility and teamwork.
  • Understand general business interfaces/processes related to procurement, engineering, operations, and accounting.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness.
  • Sense of urgency and adaptability in a changing environment to deadlines and time-sensitive requirements.
  • Very good command of Excel and sustained experience with ERP and Business Intelligence tools (i.e Power Bi).
  • Experience with project billing
