Overview
As a recognized company expert in the chemical business, the In-Kingdom Liquids to Chemicals Business & Project Development Department is driving the development of the In-Kingdom Liquids to Chemicals capital program and the delivery of capital program requirements from the initiation phase and execution phase until handover of the facility. The Engineer-I will join the East Hub Division in the LTC Business and Project Development Department. The Engineer-I is responsible for developing the technical scope of work for invitation to bid documents, facility design basis, and technical interface basis (e.g., process rates and qualities to other units, utility load, plot requirements). In addition, it is expected to coordinate remote support for additional process specialists as needed to support technology selection and technical basis-setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Adopt company key performance indicators (KPIs) in projects.
- Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve business and project development.
- Develop different project contracts and procurement strategies.
- Execute full contract procurement in all project cycles.
- Implement engineering excellence and enterprise risk management.
- Responsibility for project development: feasibility engineering studies, licensor selection, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail design, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning, startup, and closeout.
- Attend project meetings, e.g., progress, stakeholder engagement, design review, value improvement, Hazop study, scope optimization, ERA, etc.
- Implement company initiatives and business processes into projects.
- Develop a cost estimate and negotiate agreements and change orders during detailed design and execution.
- Ensure safety measures are implemented in projects’ execution.
- Leverage petrochemical project experience and provide appropriate project execution.
- Execute capital projects according to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage project material procurement.
- Prepare or review monthly project performance reports showing the status of design, material procurement, construction, milestones, commitments, payments, charges, variances from standards, and waivers.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and schedules.
- Anticipate and plan for changes in project scope, schedule, or costs. Prepare documentation and obtain management approval.
- Develop and review the project schedule.
Minimum requirements
- At least five years’ experience in project management.
- At least 10 years of experience with a focus on the refining and petrochemicals businesses
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering is preferred in chemical engineering.
