With a high demand for our services in water-related engineering projects, this listing seeks an intermediate civil/hydrotechnical engineer with experience in project management to assist with several ongoing projects and to expand our service capacity.

The Role:
As a competent project manager and coordinator, as well as an engineer with a technical proficiency applicable to our current services, you will be an integral part of our small, cohesive team.This role is split between assisting the principal hydrotechnical engineer and working on your own projects within your technical proficiency.Sometimes your role will be as a project leader, and sometimes you will be a support role for your colleagues.
About the Candidate:
The ideal candidate is passionate about waterfront projects and is an organized project manager, an excellent communicator, and is excited about influencing the future of their organization and community. Although the position is open to a wide range of experience, we would prefer an engineer with considerable experience in BC who can grow into a leadership role.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Written and verbal professional-level English communication skills
- 3+ years experience post-graduation working as an engineer in an engineering consulting firm in BC in a related discipline
- Proven project management and coordination skills on engineering projects
- Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Ability to perform routine engineering design, reporting and professional correspondence with minimal direction
- Registered with EGBC as either P.Eng., P.L.Eng, or EIT
The ideal candidate will apply the following skills and abilities to this role:
Proven project management, coordination, and professional proposal submission skills
- Client satisfaction, communications, budget tracking and invoicing.
- Compile complete proposal submissions, including writing technical and marketing sections, as well as assembling appropriate budgets and schedules for given resources.
- Highly organized and able to coordinate several resources to meet project schedule and budget commitments.
Assist the principal hydrotechnical engineer with waterfront projects.
- Interest in waterfront projects such as marinas, shoreline erosion protection, flood mitigation, hydrotechnical impact assessments, wind and wave studies, and sediment transport processes.
Proficient technical engineering skills in a field related to any of our current service offerings.
- Skills in civil, municipal, stormwater, water resources, coastal, or other disciplines to enhance and collaborate with the team on diverse projects (see list of services on our website).
- Ability to work in a small cohesive team and adapt to the needs of co-workers and projects for the overall team benefit.Sometimes we lead and sometimes we support.
Report writing, drawings, and technical evaluations.
- Independently prepare reports in standard engineering formats to present appropriate detail and documentation of the methodology and references.
- Technical evaluation or design with supporting reports and engineering drawings.
Familiar with the EGBC Guidelines and their requirements to work as a professional engineer under this registration.
- Use professional judgement to apply the guidelines to all aspects.
- Assist in augmenting the company’s PPMP or procedures/templates to efficiently comply with the EGBC requirements.
The candidate is expected to have a basic ability to perform civil engineering design, inspection, and reporting duties, and will be provided with the specialized technical training required to perform the work associated with wave analysis and complex processes.
