Job Description

Title: Project Engineer

Location: Cambridge, ON, N3H 4R7

Duration: 13 Months


Client is looking for a passionate and highly-motivated Engineering Analyst.

  • The primary responsibility of this role is to lead project planning and execution at Client’s Manufacturing Companies and support local assembly process & equipment development and their standardization.
  • The person in this role will support the Final Assembly Engineering (FAE) department's objective to study vehicle change points and plan future model activities across Client’s Companies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Maintaining close collaboration between both internal and external groups across Toyota including other manufacturing sites, Production Engineering groups to execute projects
  • 10% - Standardization and development of local assembly process & equipment
  • 30% - Simultaneous Engineering (SE) for assembly of vehicles using 3D software
  • 60% - Project Planning and execution for vehicle model changes. This includes the following stages for equipment: investigations, specification development, budgetting, drawing reviews, trials, installation, commissioning and adjustments of equipment in mass production


Requirements:

This role is based at : 1055 Fountain St., Cambridge, ON, N3H 4R7.


Skills Manager is mostly looking for this role:

  • Project Management background
  • Prior Technical writing skills will be helpful.
  • Catia and AutoCAD

Interview process: 1 round – In-person Interview (Can think of Video interview for Non-local Super strong candidate)

Travel: 10% - US & Mexico (Travel is again not on urgent basis for new hires)

Overtime: (Yes) 50 hours a week – Average. (Need to work on some Weekends)


Other Details:

  • Experience with process equipment introductions and modifications
  • Experience in Simultaneous Engineering for new model launches
  • PEO eligibility
  • Project management experience for new model development from planning to start of production
  • Ability to travel up to 10% to all NA manufacturing sites
  • Experience with Catia and AutoCAD
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering
  • Direct working experience in automotive industry
