Title: Program Officer, Global Capital Strategies Hub
Status:Full-time, two-year contract, unionized. Extension possible depending on fundraising.
Salary:$68,000.00 ($69,360 starting in June) with annual increases as per our collective bargaining agreement
Reports to: Associate Director, Capital Strategies
Location:Vancouver, Toronto or Montreal (hybrid work arrangements)
Position Summary

You believe that this requires changing the way that capital is accumulated, invested and deployed, and are interested in collaborating on thoughtful, strategic and well-executed campaigns.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Capital Strategies, and working collaboratively across several programs, the Global Capital Strategies Hub Program Officer plays a key role in developing a new program to engage investors in supporting decent work and defending workers’ rights in the Global South.
Your work will involve supporting grassroots workers’ campaigns by collaborating with your team to develop and implement investor engagement campaigns. This is a multifaceted and interdisciplinary role in a dynamic team with an emphasis on social movement campaigns, communications and network-building.

Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities outlined below are descriptive in nature and are not an exhaustive or comprehensive list of all possible job responsibilities, tasks, and duties:
- Contribute to drafting and reviewing communications about relevant themes, sectors and companies, including investor briefs, blog posts, research reports, and program reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Foster and sustain relationships with grassroots worker campaign organizations.
- Contribute to the development of team learning, systems and culture to support a dynamic and growing program.
- Take on administrative duties as needed, including – but not limited to – scheduling meetings, writing meeting notes, supporting event organization, etc.
- Participate in webinars and conferences on behalf of SHARE.
- Help coordinate the activities of the Global Capital Strategies Hub (the “Hub”).
- Perform corporate and investor research.
- Work with a team to develop and implement global investor engagement to support workers’ rights and decent work campaigns in the Global South.
- Keep up to date on current issues and events to identify potential areas of work.
Competencies
- A demonstrated commitment to social justice movements and racial justice, an intersectional analysis and an interest in systemic change.
- Experience campaigning, organizing or network coordinating on social justice, labour, political and/or environmental campaigns.
- Skills in corporate and/or financial analysis are a strong asset.
- A willingness to take on a range of tasks, including administration and data entry, and work collaboratively.
- Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks and contribute as part of a team.
- Ability to research and analyze topics related to social (decent work and human rights) and governance policies and practices of companies and investors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Qualifications
- Related experience in a communications, campaigns or advocacy role.
- Experience in basic communications and network coordination.
- Bachelor or higher degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience related to business, human rights, labour studies, political science or corporate social responsibility.
- Interest in human rights, decent work, corporate social responsibility, responsible investment, and financial markets.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Fluency in French and/or other languages is considered a strong asset.
