PMO Consultant (Contract Position)
Number of Positions: 1 Duration: 6 months
Location: Burnaby, BC, CA
Must be eligible to work in Canada

Looking for a PMO Consultant to implement a controlling IMT project management office. The role will support identification, evaluation and prioritization of the portfolio of initiatives based on value to the business. Advance the maturity of our project and product management methodology across the organization. The role will be accountable for ensuring PMO project life cycle processes and documentation standards are adhered to, including ensuring appropriate user subject matter expertise has been engaged across the project. life cycle. The PMO Consultant will have experience in implementing a project management office and be responsible for ensuring appropriate cross-department expertise is engaged to support successful implementation.
Responsibilities:
• Work to understand the current portfolio of projects and the projects included on the technology
roadmap.
• Implement overall PMO governance, processes, and standards to be followed.
• Improve critical project management processes and workflows.
• Improve project management workforce effectiveness.
• Support management of enterprise risks and ensure compliance through effective project governance.
• Assisting project managers with administrative and operational support.
• Follow the progress of projects to ensure successful delivery within budget and reasonable timeframes.
• Facilitate effective information and communication flow.
• Assist project team members as well as other members of the PMO to ensure successful delivery,
mitigate capacity constraints, and offer mentoring or training.
• Manage stakeholder expectations.
• Manage project constraints, risks, and issues and escalate to senior management where necessary.
• Ensure that mandatory project management deliverables are completed on a project-by-project basis.
• Actively engage project teams to conduct project audits as needed to ensure adherence to project management processes and documentation standards.
• Train organizational stakeholders as needed on the project delivery model including the project intake and prioritization process.
• Oversee project documentation including project plans, project charters, risk registries, etc.
• Gather requirements for and facilitate the procurement and implementation of an enterprise project
management software solution.
Qualifications:
Ideal Candidate Must-have:
• Minimum 5 years of successfully managing IT projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working within a project management office.
• Experience in the setting up of a project management office
• A recognized degree or certificate in Business Administration, Computer Science or MIS.
• Experience in creating project plans, risk assessments, contingency planning, tracking and management
of project progress, tracking issues, and managing resources.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with cross- functional teams.
• Deals comfortably with senior management and can present and converse with people in positions of authority.
• Good judgment and the capacity to independently evaluate situations and identify the optimum course of action.
• Results-oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, motivated, and drivento succeed.
• Experience building meaningful relationships with the team, other internal departments, and vendors.
• Must have an adaptable project management style to overcome unexpected challenges during the project.
• Must be able to manage conflicts amongst the team and maintain a harmonious work environment.
• Must be a team player and willing to assist team members in whichever way necessary to ensure the successful delivery of projects._
