Procurement Manager - Food

SOURCING AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER­ - INGREDIENTS

•Work with both R&D and QA staff to receive all specifications, kosher certificates, organic certificates, completed supplier approval packages, certificate of insurance forms, and any other documentation that may be required.

•Negotiation with suppliers to achieve the best pricing and payment terms possible.

•Prepare forecasting reports for future production.

•Work with QA to monitor performance of approved suppliers.

•Coordinate and execute RFQ process on a yearly basis.

•Develop a solid working knowledge of accounting and inventory management computer systems.

•Provide direction to inventory replenishment staff on updated pricing, pertinent contact information, etc.

•Approve all Purchase Orders.

•Inspect inventory conditions and quantities with inventory replenishment staff on a daily basis.

•Provide a physical inventory count every 4 weeks. The physical count may need to take place on Saturdays.

•Work with Operations Manager (or designate) to coordinate special buys for promotions.

•Adherence to all company policies including, but not limited to, Food Safety and Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, etc.

•Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

•Business degree supplemented with Supply Chain certification

• FIVE YEARS OF RELEVANT PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE WITHIN THE FOOD INDUSTRY IS A MUST

•Good communication skills

•Proficient in Microsoft office productivity tools

•Able to work in team environment as well as independently.

•Excellent negotiation skills
