Job Description

We are currently recruiting for Process Lead to join our engineering team. This position will be office based, with some time spent on the project sites.
Key Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to make clear, effective presentations to communicate recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Attention to schedule and cost, and timely decision making.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide solutions to problems.
  • Candidate must be proficient in simulation modelling and hydraulic evaluation of tailings systems, gas processing facilities and light gas facilities
  • Adept at coaching and mentoring technical staff at all levels on process simulation.
  • Experience with pumping systems is considered an asset.
  • Leadership experience (informal or formal) would be an asset
Technical Responsibilities
  • Participate in PHA’s & HAZOP’s.
  • Facilitate project work and studies with 3rd party consultants, equipment vendors and engineering contractors. Direct, review and approve their work and deliverables.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring on process simulation to other process engineering and technical team members.
  • Interface with client/stakeholders to ensure design meets project requirements
  • Develop heat and material balances and process simulations, hydraulic calculations, P&IDs, PFDs, Material Requisitions, Data Sheets, Process Design Basis, Control Narrative, Cause and Effect documents.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure modifications to technical drawings are in accordance to industry standards.
  • Develop proposals and costs for the process engineering portions of projects.
Requirements
  • Experience in Tailings Systems and Oil & Gas facility projects including some of the following areas: heavy oil facilities, well tie-ins, pipelines, compressor stations, and field gas processing facilities
  • Experience with various industry codes and standards including ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4 and CSA Z662
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients / stakeholders and drive to a resolution
  • P.Eng in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 8+ years experience with process simulations and hydraulic evaluations
