Role: Photonics Integration Engineer - Shape the Quantum Frontier
As a Photonics Integration Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of our quantum endeavors, playing a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge active components that are integral to the companies groundbreaking FTQC architecture. You'll dive into the heart of quantum photonics, working alongside a team of passionate experts who are as dedicated to innovation as you are.
Key Responsibilities:
🌟 Innovate: Drive the design and development of high-performance photodetectors, modulators, avalanche photodiodes, laser diodes, and phase shifters for our quantum computing modules.
🌟 Collaborate: Work hand-in-hand with our hardware team to ensure seamless integration of scalable components into our quantum computers.
🌟 Push Boundaries: Utilize state-of-the-art cloud simulation pipelines to pioneer novel design strategies, optimizing performance and functionality.
🌟 Excel: Execute design of experiments (DOEs) and embrace design for manufacturing (DFM) principles, exploring performance tradeoffs with our fabrication partners.
🌟 Elevate: Contribute to the evolution of our integrated optics platform, whether it's silicon photonics or III-V photonics.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
🌠 Master's or PhD in Engineering, Science, or related field, coupled with 2+ years' experience in an industrial setting.
🌠 Expert-level mastery in designing active integrated optical components, with a focus on photodetectors, modulators, and more.
🌠 Proven track record in tapeout and collaboration with photonic foundries.
🌠 Deep understanding of performance loss mitigation in active devices, with the ability to optimize integration strategies.
🌠 Proficiency in simulation techniques, unraveling potential errors and resource utilization.
🌠 Plus: Prior experience in photodetector design for integrated optics/photonics with Group-IV Germanium, GeSn, Silicon, or III-V materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
🌟 Experience with designing integrated Germanium photodetectors or avalanche photodiodes.
🌟 Familiarity with system-level design constraints and receiver testing.
🌟 Bonus points for configuring test setups and troubleshooting performance issues.
🌟 Superstar status if you've worked in an industrial environment, adept at devising solutions through simulations and testing.
