About CASA CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families. CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle – mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital. CASA’s team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners. This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs. About the Role CASA’s Communications and Philanthropy team is growing to support CASA’s five-year strategic roadmap, and we need a Philanthropy Officer to plan and execute CASA’s signature events.


Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, the Philanthropy Officer of Signature Events is the main liaison with external event planners for CASA’s signature events and works in tandem with them to manage logistics, partnerships and fundraising, stewardship and impact reporting. The Philanthropy Officer of Signature Events also supports donor, community and other stakeholder events as required. Delivering a high level of service to our donors and stakeholders, this role is involved in meaningful events that engage our community and bring Albertans closer to CASA’s vision and mission. The Philanthropy Officer of Signature Events will: Work with contracted event planners, coordinating internally to help execute on CASA’s signature events, ensuring effective administration and sound fiscal management of program goals and objectives. Collaborate with the Philanthropy Officer of Community Fundraising to develop and manage an event calendar to be shared across the Philanthropy, Communications and Senior Leadership teams. Develop and manage critical paths for each event. Perform resource impact analysis for each event, with impacts shared across teams. Provide the Philanthropy Manager with a debrief report on all events, including a return on investment report. Collaborate with the Philanthropy Officer of Marketing to conduct a partnership inventory and asset inventory annually to determine potential partnership and naming opportunities. Secure partnerships for events and ensure timely payment of pledges. Steward event partners, participants, donors and volunteers before, during and after events. Support the Philanthropy Officer of Stewardship with donor appreciation and recognition events. Support the Development Officer of Major Gifts with donor engagement events. Help develop signature events budgets, project revenue and expenses annually and manage revenue targets and goals. Job Details Union: Out-of-scope FTE: 1.0 Status: Permanent Location : CASA Downtown/Hybrid Multi-site: Yes Minimum annual salary: $59,000 Maximum annual salary: $88,000 Hours per shift: 7.25 Shifts per week: Five Days off: Saturday/Sunday Qualifications Event management certificate; equivalent years of experience will be considered. Three to five years of non-profit, event fundraising experience. Bonus if you have sponsorship experience with a marketing angle. Valid Canadian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize in a high volume work environment. Experienced program manager with proven success leading many tasks and relationships. Interest in helping contribute to streamlining processes and protocols. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-starter with a growth mind-set and a solutions-focused view. Moderate technical knowledge to support online peer-to-peer fundraising pages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fundraising data entry. Invested interest in children and youth mental health and a dedication to promoting fundraising priorities. Ability to foster strong relationships with CASA leaders, volunteers and community representatives to promote fundraising priorities. Desire to be an ambassador for CASA’s vision and mission and display a high degree of diplomacy. Commitment to exceptional service and alignment with CASA’s core values.
