Patient Administrative Associate - Emergency Department - Regular Part-Time (0.5 Fte) (2023-224524)

We currently have a Regular Part-time (0.5 FTE) opportunity for a Patient Administrative Associate in the Emergency Department at our Bayview campus.

Hours of Work: Weekdays & Weekends: Days, Evenings, Nights; 8hrs; As per schedule, Rotating Shift, Statuary Holidays Required

Summary of Duties

The PAA is responsible for coordination of patient flow and patient activities; administrative services for patient care unit; and maintenance of patient records, staffing, scheduling (up to 80% of time) payroll, and administrative support to patient care unit.

Qualifications/Skills

• One year of Community College - Medical Terminology course preferred
• Knowledge of software packages such as Word/Windows
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
• One year of Administrative/Business experience required, in a health care setting preferred
• Ability to organize work effectively and work at a fast pace in an unpredictable environment
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Demonstrated Person Centred Care/Customer Service behaviour
• Typing at 40 net words per minute or keyboarding at 106 net keystrokes per minute
