Summary


Working at Fanshawe College

Note: This is a part-time temporary Faculty position (up to 6 hours per week).


The School of Digital and Performing Arts is looking for qualified Part-time Professors to teach courses in the User Experience Design program.


Qualifications


GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS


  • Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and leading innovation
  • Engages students in experiential education opportunities
  • Collaborates effectively with faculty members on curriculum and uses educational technology – specifically our learning management software FanshaweOnline
  • Contributes to and support the program’s and Fanshawe’s college continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Works independently and collaboratively as part of an academic team
  • Familiarity with educational technologies ( LMS ) are preferred
  • Capable to teach in-person on campus
  • College or university level teaching experience preferred
  • Demonstrates commitment to enhancing equity, inclusion, and diversity by creating a positive learning environment which accommodates students’ diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, experiences, and learning styles
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Relates effectively to a wide variety of learners


Specific Qualifications


  • Has networking relationships with industry contacts
  • Knowledgeable in how to develop the customer journey and creating persona’s
  • Expertise in UX software such as Miro, Figma, or Confluence
  • Skills in facilitating focus groups and user testing experiences sessions
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Must be fluent in knowledge and application of user experience design
  • Minimum post-secondary 2-year diploma studying design and applying it to a wide range of products from start to end, including websites, apps, and games.
  • Research experience is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years’ diverse, recent, and relevant industry experience
