Part Time Finance Assistant - Contract - 16444

About The Opportunity

Our client who is an international non-profit organization is looking for a Finance Assistant to join their growing team on a contract basis with the possibility of becoming permanent. You would provide general finance support including bookkeeping, record keeping, preparation of purchase orders, processing of invoices/expense claims, as well as other administrative and financial tasks as required.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Assists in the preparation of accounts payable for processing, including supplier invoices, Contractor/Associate invoices and employee expenses; ensures all backup and banking details are provided and are securely filed for record keeping purposes
• Supports budget monitoring at both project and organizational levels
• Records numerous day-to-day financial transactions in the general ledger, balances accounts and makes reconciling entries as required
• Works with the Finance Director on issuing, recording and tracking purchase orders
• Keeps track of account receivables and enters proper codes into QuickBooks; uploads all backup documents into organized electronic folders
• Receive travel expenses, checking for accuracy and checking all supporting documents submitted with travel expenses

About You

The successful candidate will have the following:

• QuickBooks experience
• At least 4+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience in a non-profit or charitable organization
• Familiarity with the Canadian non-profit accounting requirements

About the Job

This is a part time remote opportunity; 12 hours per week/3 mornings.
