As an ORDER FULFILLMENT AND LOGISTICS COORDINATOR, you will be required to prepare sales quotes and process sales orders. You will be required to prepare all related shipping paperwork using the computer system and physically pack shipments. You will be responsible for logistics and traffic coordination activities for shipments domestically and internationally. Your skill in regards to logistics and traffic are paramount and you must have 3+ years of experience in a shipping, logistics and traffic role. Performance and accuracy under pressure are required to be successful in this role, as the activities tend to be fast paced, deadline oriented and on-time delivery is critical.
You must be fully familiar with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word and Outlook. Having a full G class license is required for this job. Any out-of-pocket expenses will be reimbursed by the company.
Highly organized and accurate, you are able to work independently, exercise good judgment, and exhibit a sense of ownership in maintaining a workplace environment that is clean and well organized. You must be willing to learn and follow instructions.
You will be reporting to the Controller and would work from our Markham office location.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
- Details of your responsibilities may change from time to time to meet the growing needs of the Company
- Prepare product quotes with initial oversight from the management team as needed
- Drop off boxes to FedEx/UPS depot after courier pick up cutoff time if needed
- Develop shipping methodology and detailed documentation
- Coordinate with the CTO, Purchasing, Production and Engineering team to prepare required shipments, physically pack product as required, and prepare all related shipping paperwork using the computer system for prototype, production, sales demonstration and trade shows
- Process sales orders after receiving a PO from the customer
- Send a shipping notification to customer and trace shipment
- Assist with preparation of sales collateral
- Negotiate freight & logistics rates and coordinate with internal stakeholders
- Comply with dangerous goods regulations
- Be the internal sales contact for phone, email and web inquiries
- Prepare services quotes with the assistance of the software team
- Maintain USMCA blanket, classify and evaluate goods
- Monitor and follow through of in-transit shipments for timely exception responsiveness and resolution
- Maintain work area in a clean and well-organized manner
- Other duties and responsibilities commensurate with your skills and interests
- Ensure legal compliance and customs requirements are met for shipments
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and EDUCATION:
- Experience with shipping domestically and internationally is required
- Successful completion of a post-secondary degree in Business Operations or Commerce related field a definite asset
- Able to work to a schedule, meeting deadlines without supervision
- Minimum 3 years of experience performing the duties and responsibilities outlined above
- Fluent in English, spoken and written
- Time and priority management skills
- Demonstrative competence with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and Outlook and comfortable using computer-based applications and websites
- Focused, accurate, highly-organized, and dependable
- Knowledge of electronic and mechanical components preferred – able to identify, handle, and verify against a bill of materials, packing slip, or data sheet is an asset
- Strong communication skills are critical, and key to your success in this role
