THE POSITION
Keyera is currently seeking an Operations Trainer to support Keyera's Wapiti Gas Plant Complex in Grande Prairie, Alberta. This position will help support the day to day operations at the terminal, and will help bring increased process knowledge to the team.
This position is ideal for a local candidate interested in working a 4 on / 3 off shift schedule.
Responsibilities
  • Acting member of SSOP committee, and Maximo Event Review.
  • Assist Operations and Maintenance with troubleshooting plant / field issues.
  • Assist with procedure development and Operations training activities.
  • Interpret and provide subject matter expertise on regulations as they apply to the facility.
  • Assist with Outage and Turnaround activities.
  • Active involvement in the coordination of company specific programs ( Maximo, Event Management, etc.).
  • Set a standard for teamwork by offering assistance to all levels of operations.
  • Develop and review plant efficiency parameters, help lead new ideas into implementation.
  • Assist with Project coordination.
  • Responsible for mentoring junior staff and overseeing the general operations of the process systems and equipment.
  • Review and help develop LOTO packages.
  • Assist FFVM and Environmental Advisor.
  • Training and validating of employee competency.
Qualifications
  • Additional relevant experience and educational credentials will be considered.
  • Strong team player with proven communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Participate in the facility work functions as a team member with a focus on internal and external customer service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
  • Experience with Parcview and Excel would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in NGL/ Gas Plant operations is required.
  • 3rd Class Inter-provincial steam ticket is a strong asset, consideration to other relevant secondary education.
  • 7+ years experience in a similar role.
  • LPG loading and offloading experience considered an asset in this role.
  • Problem solving, troubleshooting and failure analysis/investigation skills.
  • 4th Class Inter-provincial steam ticket.
  • Experience with gas processing or steam facilities.
  • Proven leadership skills through experience in past roles.
  • Experience with quality control sampling equipment (i.e. manual/composite samplers & chromatographs).
  • Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail and proven trouble shooting skills.

  • Experience managing complex lock out tag outs and managing various work associated with this.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with panel operations, including DCS and/or PLC systems.
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimum supervision.
