The Opportunity


The Research Coordinator will provide overall support for the coordination of research studies including, but not limited to: recruitment, clinical visits, preparing for monitoring visits, ethics submissions and correspondence.


Responsibilities


Coordinate the design of study specific documents such as ethics submission packages, source documentation, letters of correspondence, reports of studies to physicians and participants


Assess the staff requirements (nurses, research assistants) for pre-study preparation, recruitment, enrollment follow-up


Orient and supervise research nurses and assistants in the conduct of the study protocol


Coordinate and perform study recruitment, bookings, enrollments, and follow-up with the assistance of other research nurses and assistants


Ensure study documentation and study files are appropriately maintained


Report SAEs to the sponsor and REB following established guidelines


Oversee study product accountability and randomization practices


Coordinate sponsor monitoring visits


Promote good relations with community and health centers and doctors involved with recruitments


Hours of Work


Monday – Friday, Weekends, 8:00-4:00pm. 7.5 hour shifts


Your Qualifications


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in a clinical trial environment strongly preferred
  • Able to work both independently as well as cooperatively and effectively with others
  • Excellent time management skills and experience
  • Degree or diploma in a related health profession or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be accepted
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a high level of time management and decision-making skills in regards to setting priorities based on deadlines (both internal and external)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough, and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organization skills and planning, including developing a work schedule, monitoring progress towards goals, and tracking details, data, information, and activities; able to effectively multi-task
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, MS Project), Adobe Acrobat, WordPress, and social media platforms
  • Basic knowledge in research and/or project accounting systems strongly preferred
  • Able to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others, both internally and externally
