Millwright Apprentice/Junior Millwright

Consequently, we are looking for a full-time Millwright Apprentice who would like to join our team. This position requires shift work on primarily days, with afternoons, and midnights availability.
Duties And Responsibilities

• Other duties as assigned
• Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly
• Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts/overhead cranes, to move mechanical parts
• Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones
• Participating in preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts
• Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts
• Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
• Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime

Qualifications

• Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification required (or in progress)
• Working knowledge of mechanical technical skills to effectively read documents such as specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints
• Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail
• Proficient in troubleshooting techniques to solve machine issues
• Mechanical aptitude in dealing with wrenches, hammers, forklifts, overhead cranes and other similar tools
• Ability to be a team player due to constant interactions with similar employees and stakeholders such as Engineers, Plant Managers, and Part Vendors, amongst others
• Good at adhering to strict safety guidelines and cognizant of safety risks
• 1-3 years of direct experience as a Millwright or in progress of 4-year apprenticeship program certified by the Ministry of Labour
• High school diploma or equivalent
