Job Description

Our large public client is looking for a dynamic and innovative Analyst to join their team and support the M&A department throughout the entire process from assessing potential acquisitions to post-acquisition integration.


The ideal candidate will have a Corporate Development background, CPA or CFA, and full M&A lifecycle experience.


Work Experience/Profile:


  • Ability to work variable hours and travel when required to help with closing deals.
  • Advanced Excel (VLookups and PivotTables) and exceptional Financial Modelling skills.
  • Experience working with small owner-managed businesses as a client/target.
  • Attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines
  • 3+ years experience from a Big 4, corporate finance, investment or private equity firms, with a couple years of mid-market deal transaction execution.
  • Buy side experience a heavy asset
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal & written) with an emphasis on relationships with C level executives and report writing.
  • CPA/CA/CFA/MBA


Responsibilities include:


  • Maintaining relationships with decision makers at acquisition targets
  • Facilitating the due diligence process and coordinating across multiple internal teams
  • Assessing targets for fit and qualifying deal probability by having in depth conversations with business owners/senior executives and reviewing of initial due diligence materials.
  • Performing detailed financial analysis on financial statements to identify trends and assess business strength and quality.
  • Building a detailed financial model in Excel to determine valuation
