Membrane Characterization Specialist Jobs

We are looking for a talented Chemical system technical specialist to join our #Accelera by Cummins business unit located in Mississauga, ON.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Support the development of electrolyzer performance and durability model
• Lead data analyses along with other engineers to support the down-selection of membrane
• Prepare SOP documents for test methods
• Identify critical mechanical and chemical properties for both performance and durability of fuel cell and electrolyzer membrane.
• Develop protocols and test methods for in-situ and ex-situ testing and characterization of fuel cell and electrolyzer membrane
• Lead the efforts in designing testing and characterization tools for fuel cell and electrolyzer membrane down-selection
• Take engineering initiatives in areas which aligns with Cummins business
• Actively engage with National Labs and Universities to support and manage research projects.
• Actively engage in patenting novel ideas and in proposal writing to raise funding.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

• Experience in writing MATLAB programming is preferred.
• Experience in chemical and mechanical characterization of polymers will be also considered.
• Experience in electrochemical techniques and chemical analyses techniques is required.
• Experience in fuel cell and electrolyzers is highly preferred
• Mechanically inclined and have hands-on experience in a research lab and knowledge of designing and assembling experimental systems
• Experience in systhesis and/or characterization of polymer electrolyte ionomers/membrane is highly prefrred.

Education Required

Advance degree in engineering or basic science (PHD preferred)
