Are you ready to galvanize a team around a culture of care, putting patients first to spark change?

The MSL role will develop and maintain strong scientific relationships with thought leaders and advocates in the therapeutic area. As well as educate the key Canadian customers about Merz portfolio products and indications. And lastly, establish Merz Therapeutics Canada as a company with strong scientific and ethical credentials. The candidate can live in either BC or Alberta and within close proximity to a major airport.


Major Function of the role include:

Managing Scientific and Clinical Relationships

Demonstrate expertise and knowledge of products, disease areas, patient treatment trends, clinical trials, and scientific activities with Therapeutic area and continuously update these expertise and knowledge

Establish and maintain scientific and clinical relationships with key thought leaders and academic centers to expand research and educational opportunities

Provide healthcare professionals and decision makers with accurate, unbiased, balanced and timely responses to unsolicited requests for information



Manage Medical Congress Activities and Planning

Proactively report competitive activities as well as events that can influence the perception and the use of Merz products

Identify and prepare speakers for promotional programs and speaker training meetings using approved resources

On request, actively participate in advisory boards, speaker training events, clinical investigator meetings, regional and national meetings including the staffing of medical information booths when required.

Provide study support from protocol and budget development to submission and completion for clinical trials (Merz sponsored as well as Investigator Initiated Trials (IIT’s))

Provide continuing scientific support and training for other Merz personnel,

including reimbursement, sales and marketing, Medical Affairs and vendors etc.


Education

  • Master’s of Science degree is required


Professional experience

  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry in sales, medical affairs, etc. is required

Knowledge, skills and abilities (incl. languages)

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to translate complex scientific or clinical data into high quality medical information
  • Ability to establish strong relationships with KOLs, Advocates, and Patient Advocacy Groups
  • Willingness to travel throughout designed territory
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulations governing the pharma industry (regulatory, reimbursement, promotion, clinical research, pricing, etc.)
