Mechanical Engineer Jobs

Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg-based company to hire a Mechanical Engineer. Reporting directly to the Engineering group, you will be responsible for project-based work.

The Role

• Responsible for outlining timelines on new projects and ensuring projects remain on track.
• Responsible for completing designs and quotes for new products on a timely basis.
• Define project tasks and responsibilities for new projects.
• Troubleshoot production line issues and quality issues as required.
• Participate in cross-functional team activities and meetings as required and assigned.
• Source new vendors and new components and/or materials applicable to the design of new products.
• Maintain the integrity of the departmental quality requirements and continuous improvement activities through effective day-to-day implementation of procedures.
• Coordinate prototyping and testing of new project products in conjunction with the customer.
• Participate in cross-functional team activities and meetings as required and assigned.

The Ideal Candidate

• Strong attention to detail is a must.
• Post-secondary required in Mechanical Engineering field.
• Proficient in CAD and/or Solid Works.
• Strong computer skills, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to read blue prints.
• Required 1–5 years’ experience in manufacturing.
• Background in quoting, estimating, and design work with experience putting together BOMs.
• Proficient in, or the ability to learn, Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC).
