Manufacturing Engineering Technologist Jobs

Responsible for N.C programming for all CNC/NC equipment, robot, programming, design and co-ordinate all tooling and gauging. Assist manufacturing (production) to improve process tooling or needs as requested by Engineering Manager. Ensure that all methods, tools, etc., are working at optimum levels. Complete routings, operation or process drawings, inspection test plans and as required APQP documents as outlined in Policy/Procedure manual. Performs other duties as required.

• Develop SOP (Standard Operating Procedure)
• Continually ensure that CNC and processing records are updated
• Develop ITP (Inspection and Test Plan)
• Ensure that all methods, tools, and processes are used by follow-up
• Participate in training or other team activities to support ongoing continuous improvement
• Other duties as assigned
• Prioritizing/time management skill, ability to cope with multiple tasks
• Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principles
• Ensure that parts are delivered to the customers correct in a price effective method
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Analyze existing productions methods, time studies and operator issues
• Develop, document, and employ process troubleshooting guidelines. Assist production team on any production or technical issues
• Write and optimize CNC programs according to the process
• Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment

Requirements

• Ability to communicate, written and verbal, across all levels of an organization
• Working knowledge of CAD/CAM and Solidwork
• Requires extensive knowledge of Gauging, and GD&T
• Experience with Fanuc, OKUMA, Motoman, ABB, Mitsubishi robot
• Strong troubleshooting skills with an analytical approach
• Able to plan, project, and perform project analysis
• Able to perform method analysis
• Project management / product management skills
• Strong programming skills for CNC lathes, and other programmable equipment
• 7-10 years of related experience
• Positive, proactive, and problem-solving attitude
• Frequent processing of multiple tasks and projects with frequent interruptions
• 3 years Post-Secondary or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with the workforce, its suppliers, and customers
• Requires extensive knowledge of general machining practices
