Position Title: Manager, QC Raw Materials

Position Summary:
  • Actively participate in deviation investigation, change controls and CAPAs.
  • Support, coordinate and manage raw material sampling activities, all aspects of consumables and packing components.
  • Review documentation, authorize test results and perform disposition of materials.
  • Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Support and coordinate raw material testing activities performed internally and outsourced to approved contract labs.
  • Participate and manage raw material related projects.
Objective:
  • Manage, support, and coordinate raw material sampling activities, all aspects of consumables and packing components.
  • Participate and manage raw material related projects.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Manage, support and coordinate raw material testing activities performed internally and outsourced to approved contract labs.
  • Review documentation, authorize test results and perform disposition of materials.
  • Actively participate in deviation investigation, change controls and CAPAs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Working in a dynamic, high-throughput environment requires the ability to prioritize workload, identify gaps and assess impact with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to problem solve, troubleshoot testing issues in an effective and timely manner.
  • Accountable for reviewing, approving and authorizing the test results and responsible for the accuracy of data to meet the quality of stand.
  • Ensure compliance and adherence to cGMP requirements.
  • Accountable and responsible for managing testing and release all raw materials used for production at Toronto site.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment, and to manage different activities in order to achieve the desired goals within the department and division.
Key Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry as appropriate. Relative experience in raw materials, packaging components testing in Quality Control is preferred.
  • A team player with demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Bachelor Degree in Chemistry is preferred; Post Graduate Degree is a plus.
  • Knowledge of regulation and guidelines on raw materials requirements.
  • Strong technical and scientific skills, solid problem solving and writing skills.
