The QC Packaging Analyst is responsible to ensure that all incoming and in-house packaging materials are sampled, tested, evaluated and released for production according to specifications and requirements. Coordinate with suppliers and clients (both internal and external) for any packaging component related issues.
Key Accountabilities:
- Fills out and archives inspection reports
- Initiates non-conformance reports (NCM or NCR) for Out of Specification packaging materials and coordinates follow-ups on identified corrective actions with suppliers and
- Updates inspection and testing requirements based on CLI Inspection Manual and Client’s Specifications
- Works with both internal, external customers and other departments to trouble shoot and resolve defects and issues quickly and efficiently
- Establishes component quality standards according to component specification, drawings and client requirements
- Samples, inspects and tests incoming packaging materials according to established sampling plan, test methods and standard specifications
- Clients
- Ensures safety and housekeeping compliance in the packaging lab, warehouse and general surroundings as duties permit
- Identifies potential risks for new projects, escalates to project leadership on a timely basis and develops specific plans to address the concerns
- Tracks equipment maintenance/calibration status and organizes maintenance/calibration
- Works with Compliance team to initiate and write department SOPs and WIs, and maintain active log of review and revision
- Works with Packaging Development team to streamline incoming inspection of new components and their particular requirements
Skills, Experience and Education Required:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in quality inspection; preferably within the cosmetics, pharmaceutical quality control / assurance or a related industry
- Ability to handle pressure and / or crisis situations
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and motivate diverse groups
- Post-secondary education in Science and/or related work experience preferably in the GMP manufacturing environment
- Outstanding organizational, planning skills and attention to detail with high standard for quality
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills combined with impeccable business judgement
- Self-motivated, highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent team player
- Proficient in MS Office suite of products (Word, Excel)
